Kerala woman clears LLB exam at the age of 47 years

Where there is a will, there is a way. This Kerala woman proved it. Sujatha, a native of Thrissur, Kerala, cleared the LLB examination at the age of 47 years.

She secured 64 marks and going to enrol as a lawyer. Sujatha’s life inspires many people.

Sujatha scored a good percentage in her SSLC examination. She secured 495 marks in her exams in 1989. Yet she could not continue her studies due to family problems.

Sujatha is the daughter of Raman and Vilasini. Her parents were coolie workers. They have five daughters, and Sujatha is the fourth among them.

Sujatha’s father was ill when she was in her pre-degree. Yet, she managed to pass the exams with second class. But, later, she had to discontinue her studies due to financial difficulties.

She joined as a coolie worker at a tile factory near her house. Later she joined a timber factory to improve her income with which she could manage her four sisters to get married. She constructed a house also.

Sujatha met Advocate Manoj Krishnan as part of a case related to her property. He came to know about her studies and saw her marks. Surprised by her marks, the lawyer encouraged her to resume her studies.

The owner of the factory where Sujatha was working also encouraged her to pursue her studies and helped to join LLB. Sujatha, who resumed her studies after 25 years, was eager and enthusiastic to clear the examination with a good percentage.

She studied hard while working for the family. With her hard work, she cleared the LLB entrance examination, and get a merit seat at AIM Law College.

She joined the college and continued her jobs and studies. Knowing her problems, her classmates and teachers supported her a lot.

Sujatha cleared LLB exams. Now she is eagerly waiting to begin a new career as a lawyer.
