Schools have been closed in the wake of coronavirus outbreak and exams have been postponed. Thousands of students preparing for campus placements are in a dilemma. In this situation, an IIT-Madras incubated startup, GUVI came forward to offer online IT-skilling courses.

GUVI is an integrated edtech platform. The courses offered by the startup helps students prepare for campus placements until 31 March.

Students need not pay anything for some courses. They just need to register and access the specified courses.

SP Balamurugan, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer says that they aim to provide the requisite skills to students to get better jobs. The improved and right skills will help their employment chances. The startup has some hiring partners who are supporting it in this initiative.

He says that they will offer free online courses until the end of this month. If needed, GUVI continues free courses as long as the students can afford them. Now, it is the time to help and support each other as the country recovers from the epidemic. Hence, the startup is providing free courses to students.

Students can improve their coding and programming skills in different Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Bengali.

The courses are designed in these languages for people who are not comfortable with English.

Since these skills are essential to get a good job, all IT-skilling courses can be practiced on the GUVI platform after learning them thoroughly.

GUVI also helps in recruitment. Professionals can also upgrade their skills. They can buy the courses, learn and practice them to get hired.

There are premium courses as well. Anyone can enroll for them. The course fee varies with each course. Some courses are offered at a discount price for students.
