Yogi claims to have lived without water and food
Internationally, 88-year-old Prahlad Jani is known as a breatharian, a person who lives on air alone.
Jani is a yogi from the village of Charod in Gujarat. He claims to have spent over seven decades of his life without ever drinking water or eating food.
Jani wears red clothing and is referred to as “Mataji”. He is surprisingly fit for his age and condition.
His ability to survive on air alone has garnered the curiosity of many scientists from all over the world. These scientists are absolutely shocked at his ability to only live off of air and nothing else.
Scientists have already conducted several medical examinations on Jani. One of the scientists who conducted a study on him was Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India.
Scientists have also conducted tests on the plants in his ashram. However, the scientists and doctors who have conducted these studies cannot connect the dots. Therefore, they are unable to explain Jani’s unique way of living.
Defense Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (DIPAS) conducted an observational study on Jani in 2010. He was observed in strict isolation for 15 days. During this time, he was under continual video monitoring.
Jani was taken out for MRI, Ultrasound, X-Ray, and sun exposure tests. These tests were also conducted under continuous video recordings. Jani also had periodic biochemical, clinical, radiological, and other examinations conducted on him.
The study conducted by DIPAS concluded that Jani has an extreme form of adaptation to starvation and water restriction, which is evident from serum Leptin and Ghrelin levels. Jani is devoted to Goddess Amba.
He says that his meditation is what gives him the energy to carry on. Many disciples visit Jani’s ashram from far and wide. The yogi assists them with their problems without charging them any fee.
No one knows for sure how real Jani’s feats are, if any.
