Swiggy launches Swiggy Go
Swiggy launched pick-up and drop service ‘Swiggy Go’ in Bengaluru yesterday aiming to expand the service to more than 300 cities by 2020.
Users can send packages to anywhere in the city using Swiggy Go. It will also be a part of the app like Swiggy Stores.
People who want to send lunch boxes from home to office, pick up and drop off laundry, get forgotten keys and deliver documents or parcels to clients, can avail the services of Swiggy Go.
Bengaluru would be the first city in the country to experience the last-mile delivery for everything including food from Swiggy.
It is also announced that Swiggy Stores would be expanded to Hyderabad as well. Swiggy Stores ensure consumers to deliver household items like groceries, medicines, flowers and other things at their doorstep within an hour.
The company has more than 300 merchant-partners including Nilgiri’s, Organic World, Nature’s Basket, Heads Up For Tails and Nandu’s Chicken in Bengaluru.
In Hyderabad, it has partnered with almost 200 merchant-partners including 24 Organic Mantra, Ratnadeep, Ghanshyam, Sneha Chicken, Yellow and Greens etc. Customers can also choose their delivery from any store of their choice in the city.
Swiggy CEO Sriharsha Majety said that the vision of Swiggy is to improve the quality of urban consumers’ life.
In this context, Swiggy said that it will expand the services of Swiggy Go to over 300 cities and Swiggy Stores to all major metro cities by 2020.
It has a dedicated fleet of partners to provide the deliveries. Their delivery partners can earn extra income with these services.
All delivery partners engage with Swiggy on a principle to principle basis. They receive insurance coverage including life, health and accident cover.
Swiggy was founded in 2015 to deliver food to consumers from restaurants. It has more than 1,30,000 restaurant partners in over 325 cities to connect to the consumers.
