IRCTC launches app for Tatkal bookings
The Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has been initiating several measures for the comfortable and safe journey of passengers. Now, it launched a mobile application for tatkal bookings.
IRCTC launched Confirmtkt app to ease the process of tatkal bookings. Train passengers have to book tatkal tickets 24 hours before the departure of the train, and these tickets are available for passengers on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Tatkal booking starts at 10 a.m. for AC trains and 11 a.m. for non-AC trains. The booking for a train will open just before 24 hours of its departure. So, passengers can start booking tickets through tatkal as per the scheduled departure of a train.
The Confirmtkt app helps passengers by displaying seat availability on various trains. Passengers can get the information of all the available tatkal tickets on a specific route.
Before booking tickets, they can save their personal details and the time of their journey on the app for a faster search. Passengers can search for various things using the app. These include the availability of a seat or berth with predictions, confirmation of predictions, PNR status, schedule of a train, alternate options, fare enquiry, and fare calculator.
The app is useful for search options for all types of trains like superfast trains, express trains, and passenger trains.
The ConfirmTkt app also helps passengers in getting confirmed train tickets by changing their boarding or dropping point. It also predicts the chances of confirmation of a ticket if a train ticket is available on the waitlist. If the prediction status shows green, it indicates the confirmation of the ticket.
The ConfirmTkt app is available on the Google Play store to be downloaded by Android users.
To book a ticket on the app, select the source and destination. Choose the train from the list and select class and boarding point. Then enter passenger details and berth preferences.
Enter contact details, like email ID and mobile number. Select the payment mode and pay through it. After successful payment, enter IRCTC credentials to get your booked ticket displayed. You will receive it on your email and mobile.
