Doordarshan to make Documentary on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
October 31 is the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. It is reorganized as National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) because of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. In this scenario, Doordarshan has planned to broadcast a series of programmes. It involves a documentary that covers the life history of the ‘Iron Man of India’ and the celebrations at Karamsad in Gujarat, the place of Patel.
The documentary also focuses on the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to the freedom movement of India and his actions and efforts after independence. It will also cover events like ‘Run for Unity’ (Ekta Daud) that is going to be held in various parts of the country to spread Patel’s message of national integration and good governance. Doordarshan has also made a video to promote the vision of Patel for India and highlighted the theme of National Unity Day.
