Teleservice to connect doctors and patients
Here is a new innovation which improves the communication between doctors and patients.
The service is called Hellodoc and as the name suggests, it makes it easy for doctors and patients to connect together.
The service lets users connect with their doctors using a toll-free number.
It was started by Yunus Tonse, Founder of Tonse Technologies, and Dr Siddharth Kumar, a dentist.
At present they launched it just for Karnataka but it will be expanded to all over India soon.
At present, the service has 250 doctors partnered with them.
Users of this service can contact doctors for any kind of problems like eye problems, diabetes, dental problems etc.
The service is simple to use.
The user just has to dial the toll free number and select the language they prefer.
After that, they have to select the medical problem they need help with. They will be quickly connected to the related doctor.
The first consultation is free for the users.
Yunus says that Hellodoc is made to combine private practitioners and hospitals on a single platform.
This makes it easily accessible for people to have quick and reliable consultation.
In terms of expanding, the service will soon be expanded to other areas of the country. The duo who founded the service are also working on an app.
They believe that this service will be helpful to many people especially those in rural India.
Rural areas tend to have low access to healthcare.
Such a service gives them quick access to doctors.
The service gets 1,000 calls per month.
The founders are expecting that this number will go up to 4000 per month soon.
They are currently working on getting more hospitals in to their service.
They tied up with eight hospitals at present.
