PRAYOG was started Surya Prakash Rai in 2013. The main aim of the NGO was to improve the habit of reading in rural Bihar.
Surya has always focused on improving the state of education around him. After doing his graduation, he immediately went to work with NGOs.
He visited many schools and interacted with the kids there. He saw that the poor education available to them caused many problems.
The first step he did to improve the condition is start a community library in a village in Gopalganj, his hometown.
He even held regular classes there for children who are not getting proper education.
In three years, the initiative grew very big and PRAYOG helped many schools to have classroom libraries in their premises.
They even collaborated with Prajnopaya Foundation in an MIT-backed program called the ‘Global Literacy Project’.
It is a self-learning module for pre-primary students using tablet devices.
Surya was always interested in such technology based initiatives.
That is why he was interested with Toon Masti.
