It is believed that one can relieve oneself from all karmas by donating various things in this month.

Here is a list of various things to donate on each day of Kartika month:

  • Donate ghee and gold on the first day and worship the god of fire to get the glory.

  • Donating any eight items of your choice on the ninth day and worshipping ancestors is believed to help protect your children from all evils.
  • It is believed that donating pumpkin and ingredients for self-cooking to a Brahmin and worshipping Adityas on the tenth day would bring fame and fortunes.
  • If you donate vibhuti fruits along with dakshina on the eleventh day and worship Lord Shiva, you will get wealth and high position.
  • Donate perfumes, copper and ingredients for self-cooking to a Brahmin and worship Lord Vishnu on the twelfth day to get abundant riches and knowledge.
  • Donating flowers like jasmine on the thirteenth day and worshipping Cupid would bless one with marital bliss.
