President becomes teacher for one day | Fusion - WeRIndia

The students of Dr Rajendra Prasad Sarvodaya Vidyala, Delhi are in for a pleasant surprise. The XI and XII students there will be taught by President Pranab Mukherjee who will be taking the role of a teacher for a day.

This special event will happen on September 4 – the eve of  Teachers’ day.

The President who is taking the role of a teacher will teach students of both grades in a joint class. The lecture by the President will be conducted on the ‘knowledge floor’ of the school which is located in the presidential estate.

 

After the class, he will also address about 100 teachers after the class.

The idea was proposed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The President gave consent to it. This unique step is part of the Delhi Government program called ‘Be a Teacher’.

The concept of this program is take famous personalities from various fields and let them take lessons in government schools in order to let the students get inspiration about various career options.

In the past, the late former President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam had interacted with students.

Even Pranab Mukherjee had met the students in the past. Certainly, Teachers’ Day will be a notable day for the students who get the opportunity to meet the President.
