Millennials use technology for waste-free weddings
Millennials are ahead in using technology for several tasks. Now, it is being used in weddings.
It is quite common to waste huge money in the name of feasts at weddings. However, the trend is slowly changing.
Many young people are choosing to celebrate their wedding parties differently.
Some are far ahead of others using technology.
India is the world’s youngest country with nearly two-thirds of Indian population i.e. 65 per cent of Indians aged below 35.
Many young couples are combining traditions with technology for a waste-free wedding.
Rather than inviting by printed wedding cards, these couples use e-invites. Printed wedding cards are not only bad for the environment but are also expensive due to printing and courier costs associated with it.
On the other hand, e-invites are cheap and easy to use. The couples create animated or video wedding invitations and share through WhatsApp or some other apps.
Statistics show that more than ₹1 lakh crore is spent on wedding gifts each year. However, most couples do not like ‘unwanted’ gifts. As a result, they are re-gifted to others.
To avoid this, Wedding Wishlist came into the field. It is the first registry of the country. Couples can choose their choice of gifts and make a list. Thus, the gifting experience is not wasted and couples can get their desired gifts.
Some couples are creating their wedding website for a personalized wedding. They use this website to share their story on how and where they met, post pictures, celebration details, travel information and registry with their guests.
This website helps guests know more about the personality and life of the couple. The guests can even know the wishlist of the couple there.
