Things to know about CBSE Class 12 Exam
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CBSE class 12 Board exams were cancelled this year. In this context, the CBSE chose another marking system to finalize the exam results. Students’ performance in Class 10 and 11 will be taken into consideration while announcing the results of Class 12. The performance of students in the pre-board exams of Class 12 will also be considered for results.
CBSE will declare the results on July 31, 2021. Due to the pandemic situation, the CBSE directed all schools to conduct practical exams and internal assessments online and submit them to the Board within the deadline. Besides, viva-voce of students will be conducted online by an external examiner. The schools have to send the screenshot of these three exams to the Board as proof.
CBSE also wrote a letter stating that all students have to be informed of the online exam date in advance. However, schools shall send the actual link on the exam day.
As the CBSE gave a deadline for all affiliated schools to submit the CBSE Class 12 practical exams marks by June 28 (today), all schools have to submit the marks by the end of the day.
As directed by the CBSE, schools started the evaluation process for Class 12 Board Exam 2021 results. CBSE asked the schools to establish a five-member result committee to prepare the results based on the previous performance of the students. Headed by the Principal, the committee will prepare the results and upload them to the website.
The weightage of marks is as follows: 80 marks will be given for unit tests or mid-terms and pre-board exams, while 20 marks will be given for practical exams.
In subjects, 70 marks are given for theory and the remaining 30 marks are for practical exams. The CBSE will not release the merit list this year.
