Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sudarshan Setu, a significant infrastructure milestone, on Sunday.

This 2.32 km long, four-lane cable-stayed bridge, connects Okha and Beyt Dwarka in the Devbhumi Dwarka district.

It represents a leap forward in connectivity and development, with an investment of ₹980 crore.

Following the inauguration, Modi paid a visit to the revered Dwarkadhish temple, continuing a day filled with significant engagements.

Beyt Dwarka, an island near Okha port and approximately 30 kilometres from Dwarka town, holds religious importance due to the Beyt Dwarka temple dedicated to Lord Krishna.

The bridge’s completion is a boon for devotees who previously relied on daytime boat services to visit the temple. Now, with Sudarshan Setu, access to the temple becomes unrestricted, allowing devotees to visit at their convenience.

Furthering his agenda for the day, the Prime Minister headed to Rajkot to inaugurate the first All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Gujarat via a virtual ceremony.

This inauguration is part of a broader initiative to open additional AIIMS locations across India, including Rae Bareli, Mangalagiri etc., marking a significant enhancement in the country’s healthcare infrastructure.

In addition to healthcare, Modi’s focus extended to improving transportation and energy sectors.

He unveiled the project for doubling the Rajkot-Surendranagar railway line, which is expected to bolster connectivity and ease travel for thousands of commuters.

The establishment of a new cardiology hospital in Vadodara and power generation projects in Kutch demonstrate a commitment to advancing Gujarat’s healthcare and energy capabilities.

Moreover, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Mundra Panipat crude oil pipeline project was announced, signifying a strategic move to enhance India’s energy infrastructure and secure its energy needs.

Modi’s visit to Gujarat was marked by a series of inaugurations and ground-breaking ceremonies. They underscored a commitment to developing infrastructure, healthcare, and energy sectors.

These projects not only aim to facilitate economic growth but also improve the quality of life for the people of Gujarat and beyond.
