Key NDA government schemes like make in India and Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan became a part of the training given to diplomats, with the foreign ministry taking part in a a lot of prominent role in popularising the initiatives abroad.

The focus on simplification of forms and processes to enhance simple doing business, and paying special attention to the wants of the states have additionally become a part of training modules at the foreign service Institute (FSI), that trains both new recruits and mid-career diplomats.

The move is aimed to inform officers with flagship schemes — where the foreign ministry plays a vital role — and sensitise them on the government’s priorities.

“Training capsules incorporated in their content after recent directives from the Government include state specialisation Make In India campaign, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, simplification of forms and procedures etc.,” the annual report of the external affairs ministry for 2014-15 says.

One of the examples for this is that foreign missions abroad create popularity for missions like Make in India which will improve the manufacturing sector of India. This initiative also considers some of the key foreign trips made by the Prime Minister Modi. The PM has also supported simplifying of laws and processes for doing businesses easily.
