The National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed that terrorist organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) are using virtual numbers.

In its latest chargesheet, the NIA indicated that there is trouble associated with the virtual numbers used by the terrorists.

NIA says that investigation indicates that terrorists had coordinated through virtual numbers after Pulwama attacks.

These virtual numbers work through a server. The user has to download an application on their phone. After that, the app can be used to sign up for services like other social media accounts.

Adil, the Pulwama bomber also used a virtual number. A service provider in the United States provided the number.

Unlike normal numbers, the virtual SIM does not require a locally registered SIM to get a connection.

The virtual number is generated by the computer and can be of any country based on the service provider.

Moreover, virtual SIM allows making or receiving calls on the phone number of the user from nearly 50 countries.

There is no limit on the number of virtual numbers one can have on the SIM card.

NIA said that JeM had planned to carry out strikes in New Delhi and sent Mudasir Ahmed for a recce to find targets in the area that the JeM could hit.

He stayed in touch with all others through two virtual numbers. The remaining members also coordinated to plan the attacks through virtual numbers.

NIA found that the numbers were generated in the US.

It also said that, after the ghastly Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF jawans were martyred, the JeM members sent congratulatory messages to each other among the group. They called it Kashmir ki Eid.

It was also noted by the NIA that the next suicide attack would be carried out by Muddasir.
