Pakistan is not changing its ugly acts despite past experiences. This is proved again with the latest incident of iftar party.

Indian guests are intimidated again in Pakistan at an iftar party. The iftar party was hosted by the Indian Embassy in Pakistan.

But, when the guests tried to attend the event, they were intimidated with unprecedented harassment at the hands of security agencies.

Indian High Commissioner in this context protested against the incident and requested Pakistan to investigate on this immediately.

The High Commission released a press release on this incident.

As per this press release, Pakistan’s security agencies launched a campaign during the days preceding to the iftar party hosted by the Indian Embassy.

These security agencies tried to stop the invitees and dissuade them from joining the event. They were physically stopped from attending the party.

Pakistani security agencies were deployed outside the hotel with forklifts where the iftar party was hosted. They aggressively turned to guests who wanted to attended the iftar party.

This is completely a violation of diplomatic norms, says the High Commission. It strongly protested this intimidation of Pakistan against Indian guests and requested for a probe on this.

The press release emphasized on the need that the High Commission of India would be allowed to discharge their diplomatic functions freely.

And the Pakistan government should make sure the Commission fulfill its duties without fear of coercion or harassment.

Sibi George started the tradition to host an iftar party in Pakistan 12 years ago when he was in Indian High Commission. At present, he is working as the Indian Ambassador to Switzerland.
