Hyderabad Girl murdered
26-year-old Hyderabad girl was abducted, raped and set ablaze.
Priyanka Reddy is a veterinary doctor. She is a resident of Hyderabad’s Shamshabad area.
She had left her work in the evening as usual on Wednesday. However, her scooty tyre was punctured in the road.
Priyanka called her younger sister Bhavya and informed her about the incident. She told her sister that some people came forward to help her and took her vehicle to the repairing shop.
Bhavya asked Priyanka to leave the vehicle there and reach the toll plaza nearby. However, Priyanka could not do so.
Her phone got switched off. After that, her phone was not reachable. Bhavya and her father came to the location searching for Priyanka.
They even lodged a police complaint. However, they allege that the police did not respond to their compliant on time. They said that the cops rejected to help them saying that she had eloped with somebody.
After constant requests, the cops sent two constables in search of Priyanka, but could not find her.
The next day one of the residents found her charred body. Her family members identified her through her dress and other belongings.
The family members said that if the police responded to them immediately, they could have saved her.
Priyanka’s murder shook the state. Several people including celebrities expressed their concern for her.
TRS working president and minister KT Rama Rao expressed anguish at her death. He said that he would personally monitor the case.
The central government said that an advisory would be sent to all states regarding the precautionary steps to monitor crime against women.
G Kishan Reddy, the Union Minister of State for Home said that he would be in touch with officials to punish the criminals involved in her murder.
