Delhi government to launch doorstep ration delivery service
Good news to Delhiites. They need not wait in front of public distribution shops and ration shops for their ration. They will soon get their rations delivered at their doorsteps.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal while addressing a Republic Day event announced that the government would launch doorstep ration delivery service by March in Delhi. He said that this scheme would transform the ration distribution system, as Delhiites need not stand in longstanding queues for ration. Besides, it will save time.
CM also said that citizens would also get their health cards by the end of this year. These cards store the health records of Delhiites. He said that the scheme of health cards would start from government hospitals and mohalla clinics. It would then be extended to private clinics.
Both the government and private hospitals will be connected to the Health Information Management System (HIMS). It enables the citizens to get an online appointment with doctors so that there is no need to wait at hospitals. Thus, it saves the time of both doctors as well as patients.
CM also appreciated the services of healthcare workers while addressing the medical infrastructure of the capital city. He said that the national capital witnessed one of the worst outbreak of COVID-19 infections in the world. Yet, medical staff in Delhi provided excellent services, and the healthcare system worked well without any problem.
In this context, he quoted the health infrastructure facilities of many developed nations and cities like New York and how they collapsed during the outbreak of COVID-19. But in Delhi, the government took proper preventive measures like home isolation to control the spread of COVID-19 infection. CM said that more than 3 lakh people recovered under home isolation in the national capital region.
