Bike-on-rent facility in Delhi soon | Fusion - WeRIndia

If you have ever been to Goa, then you might have seen the bike-on-rent facility there. And if you ever wished that this facility might extend in other areas of the countries as well, then it is a good news to you.

Delhi transport department recently approved the proposal of bike-on-rent facility in Delhi. The scheme is intended to be useful for tourists and other individuals. Under this facility, they can hire a motor cycle. However, the proposal of bike taxi services was declined by the Transport Department due to security reasons of pillion riders.

The motor cycles should be registered commercially to obtain carriage permit. Anyone that have an office space of 150 square feet and at least five motor cycles can be given licenses. Only motor cycles that were given licenses can be hired and used for this purpose.

The authorities believe that this plan of bike-on-rent facility will boost tourism in Delhi. The bikes will be available to hire at metro and railway stations, ISBTs and other prominent places throughout the City. To get a motor bike on rent tourist need to submit their identity at the specified bike counters. If everything goes as proposed, the proposal will be notified by the end of this month by the Transport Department Authorities.
