AI's growing role in education as per Digii Survey | Fusion - WeRIndia

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education is rapidly transforming the teaching landscape.

Digii, India’s leading SaaS provider for higher education, recently conducted a unique survey on the role of AI in education.

The survey aimed to capture the perspectives of educators in various cities on the growing influence of AI in higher education. Some of these cities include Bangalore, Delhi, and Hyderabad.

Based on insights from over 500 faculty members from 22 prestigious institutions, the survey highlights significant trends in AI adoption.

Several renowned institutions like Manipal Academy of Banking, Jain University, VIT Bangalore etc. had become part of the survey.

An impressive 93% of respondents expressed enthusiasm about using AI, believing it will greatly improve their teaching experience.

Currently, 41% of educators actively incorporate AI tools in their classrooms. Of these, 70% use AI for content creation, while 40.1% leverage it to generate assessments.

Other popular uses include attendance tracking (28.4%), evaluations (24.4%), and feedback generation (22.5%).

Moreover, 37% of faculty members have experimented with AI tools but are not yet using them regularly, and 21.6% have not explored AI in their teaching.

Hemant Sahal, Founder & CEO of Digii, remarked on the promising outlook, stating that 97% of educators are eager to adopt AI-based tools and are willing to undergo training to enhance their teaching methods.

To further support this growing interest, Digii introduced DigiiAI, a generative AI tool, to more than 20 educational institutions.

This tool simplifies tasks such as attendance tracking, documentation, and assessment creation, allowing educators to focus more on teaching and improving learning outcomes.

The Digii survey underlines a strong shift towards AI-driven education, with faculty members recognizing its potential to revolutionize both teaching and learning.

As AI continues to gain momentum, educational institutions are poised to see enhanced efficiency and enriched learning experiences.
