5G Services in India to be launched on October 1 | Fusion - WeRIndia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 5G services in India tomorrow at India Mobile Congress (IMC) at Pragati Maidan.

Many people are excitedly waiting for the day. The National Broadband Mission stated that PM Modi would launch the much-awaited 5G services at the IMC event. IMC is the largest technology exhibition.

Earlier, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also said that India would be rolling out 5G service by October.

He added that while it took several years for many countries to reach 50 percent coverage, India has achieved it within a short timeframe. As the government aimed to cover around 80 percent in the least possible time, it achieved it in a very short time.

Airtel and Reliance Jio are ahead of their counterpart Vodafone-idea in the race. They offer 5G services.

Telecom operators like Airtel, Reliance Jio etc., will also present at the event.

As per some sources, many business tycoons like Mukesh Ambani, Kumar Mangalam Birla, and Sunil Bharti Mittal will also present at the launch of 5G services by PM Modi.

Though PM launches 5G services, they will not be available to all users immediately after launching. They will be rolled out across the country in a phased manner. It will take more than a year to reach wider coverage. It means it will be available to many people by the end of 2023.

Airtel and Jio already said that 5G services would be available in certain cities by Diwali. Both companies informed their customers in this regard. In the first phase, 5G services will be rolled out in 13 cities. They are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Jamnagar, Lucknow, and Pune. As of now, these companies did not reveal plans and their prices.
