You can transfer SBI savings bank account to other branches online
Normally bank account transfer involves filling a form and submitting to bank authorities by standing in queues.
Forget this old procedure. Everything can be done at your fingertips in this digital era.
There is no need to wait in the bank branch for hours. Private banks have had this procedure for a long time. But, public sector banks also have this facility for their customers.
SBI, the largest commercial bank has this facility.
You should have net banking facility for doing this. If you haven’t activated your net banking, then finish it first.
Here is a step-by-step procedure to transfer your SBI savings bank account from one branch to another branch:
- Visit the website of SBI: www.onlinesbi.com.
- Login to your account under ‘Personal Banking’ segment using your credentials like username and password.
- New users can register for net banking by clicking on the ‘New User/Registration’ option and complete the process.
- You can view ‘e-services’ option on the top panel of your home page after signing into your account.
- Then, click on ‘Transfer of savings account’ option and choose the account to be transferred.
- If you have only one account with SBI, then it will be selected automatically. If you have more than one account, then you will have to choose the account.
- Then, enter the branch code to which you want to transfer your account. After entering the code, the branch name will be updated.
- Check it once before submitting. Then, read and accept the terms and conditions specified on the page.
- Click on ‘Submit’, after which, details would be displayed on the screen. Verify all the details and click on ‘Confirm’ if they are correct.
- You would receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and need to enter it in the given space.
- Click on ‘Confirm.’ After that, a message saying ‘Your branch transfer request has been successfully registered’ would appear on the screen.
