SBI customers can withdraw without a debit card

State Bank of India (SBI), the largest commercial bank of the country introduced the YONO app to ease transactions.

Using the app, SBI customers can withdraw money without a debit card from SBI ATMs (YONO cashpoints).

SBI recently announced that the bank is going to establish nearly 10 lakh YONO Cashpoints in the country in the next 18 months.

With this facility, customers need not carry their debit card to withdraw the cash. Moreover, the risk of card skimming and cloning can be avoided.

As the withdrawal process involves 2-factor authentication, it is more secure.

The customers need to install the YONO app on their smartphones. The app can be accessed on the web through a browser.

After installing the app, you need to set a 6-digit YONO Cash PIN for transactions.

However, you will get another 6-digit reference number on your registered mobile number when you initiate the cash withdrawal process to complete the transaction.

Both the PIN and reference number are to be used at YONO Cashpoint within 30 minutes to withdraw cash.

The process to withdraw cash through the website:

Log in to the SBI YONO website using your net banking ID and password.
You will find all your account details on the SBI YONO dashboard.
Just scroll down to the bottom and find YONO cash tab under the ‘My Rewards’ section.
Customers are permitted to withdraw between ₹500 and ₹10,000 in a single transaction through the net banking. Hence, check your permitted amount of withdrawal there.
Yet, a maximum of ₹20,000 is allowed per day from an SBI ATM through the YONO website.
Then click on ‘Request YONO Cash’ and enter the amount you want to withdraw from the ATM.
Enter the 6-digit YONO cash PIN for the transaction to initiate the cash withdrawal. You will receive a 6-digit reference number though an SMS. You have to enter it at the YONO cash point within 30 minutes.
