Creating a WILL is simple when compared to the efforts of the individuals spent to gain wealth. However, certain tips are to be followed while preparing a WILL to pass on wealth to the heirs.

Never choose your beneficiary as the witness to prevent creating conflict of interest in future.

Always choose your family member or close associate as the executor of the WILL to follow the directions specified in the WILL. You can choose your spouse or your child for this purpose so that he or she can pay all liabilities or bills as directed in the WILL.


Many people have a dilemma of where to store the WILL. Normally, people store it in a bank locker or any other lockers that are accessible only to them and cannot be jointly operated. Do not make this mistake. You can store it with your lawyer in his or her office safely.

Do you know that you can modify WILL as often as you can? You can modify it according to the circumstances from time to time. For instance, if your property goes to your spouse as per your WILL, but in case he or she dies before you, you have to modify it. Similarly, you can change it as many times as the need occurs.

Do let your close aides know the place where you kept your WILL. If you do not reveal the place, then the property will not reach your heirs.

Make proper provisions in your WILL regarding specific jewelry or property to be handed over to your specific heirs.

You may change your WILL as many times as you want. In this process, you may forget to sign. But, never forget to sign whenever you modified it. Otherwise, the last one which was signed by you is the final WILL.
