SN Bose Scholars Program is now open for Indian students. The program is jointly initiated by Government of India, the Science & Engineering Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) and WINStep Forward to support students in making innovations.

The program is named after Satyendra Nath Bose, an idealistic physicist. His work on quantum mechanics was popular and renowned in the early 1920s.

SN Bose Scholars Program is a student exchange program between leading institutions in India and the United States.

The main aim of this program is as follows: To give opportunity to Indian students to get familiar with the best-class research provisions and skills in premier institutions of the US; to inspire students to choose careers in research; to reduce the limitations across the globe, and to maintain long-term partnerships with the associations from all around the globe.

To apply for the program the following criteria should be followed: Any Indian students who is pursuing his/her Bachelors or Masters’ degree from a recognized educational institutions is eligible to apply for this program. And the second condition is that he/she should have studied any of the following subjects: Physical Sciences; Chemical Sciences; Engineering Sciences; Atmospheric and Earth Sciences; and Mathematical and Computational Sciences.

Students who have Biology background should apply for another program, named Khorana Program which is meant for them. Application form for the program is to be submitted on or before 31 October 2015.

The scholarship program comprises Air-fare, stipend and health insurance. The program dates are from May, 2016 to July 2016. You can visit their website for more details and download application form here.
