Government announces three contests
As part of 75 years of India’s Independence or Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Government of India announced three contests for citizens. These three contests are DeshBahkti Geet writing, Lori writing, and Rangoli making.
Here are details about each contest:
DeshBhakti Geet Writing:
Indians above 10 years are eligible to send their entries for this category. Participants can write patriotic songs in their mother tongue, national language or English.
Selection will be in four stages, and all participants will get a participation certificate. They have to compete at district, state, and national levels at various dates. The national-level final will be on April 13, 2022.
Lori writing:
There is no age restriction to participate in this category. Any Indian citizen can participate in this category and send their entries. The Lori is recommended to be written in the mother tongue. There are three stages of the selection process for this category.
Rangoli Making:
Indians aged above 10 years are eligible to send their entries for this category. Digitally created Rangolis will not be accepted. Only entries for physical Rangoli designs will be accepted for the contest. It also has three stages of the selection process. All participants will get a participation certificate.
Participants shall finish their Rangoli within the specified time and space. The allotted time will be two and half hours for the contest, and space will be 4 x 4 feet. It should be traditional. Hence, pencils and chalks are not allowed to draw a rough sketch.
The theme of Rangoli should be related to the freedom struggle or the picture of a hero of the freedom movement.
The registrations are open till December 15, 2021. The national-level final will be on February 2, 2022.
