Air India Express launches #VoteAsYouAre to support first-time voters | Fusion - WeRIndia

In a significant move to encourage democratic participation, Air India Express has launched the #VoteAsYouAre initiative.

This campaign aims to empower first-time voters by making it more affordable for them to travel home and cast their ballots in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. 

Specifically targeting young voters aged 18 to 22, this initiative underscores the airline’s commitment to fostering a culture of active citizenship among India’s youth.

Starting April 18, 2024, the airline offers a substantial 19% discount on flights across its domestic and international network. 

This special rate is available until June 1, 2024, and is tailored for first-time voters flying to the airport closest to their registered voting constituency. 

Those eligible can make their bookings directly through the airline’s website or its mobile app, ensuring that participating in their democratic right is both convenient and cost-effective.

The Chief Commercial Officer at Air India Express articulated the broader vision behind this initiative. He highlighted the airline’s role as a catalyst for uniting people and cultures, especially as it approaches its 19th anniversary. 

According to him, the #VoteAsYouAre campaign is not just about discounts but is also a gesture of gratitude towards young voters who are keen on shaping the future of India.

The discount applies across four distinct fare families offered by Air India Express, catering to a variety of travel needs and preferences. 

These include the following:

• Xpress Lite, which is ideal for those travelling light with only cabin baggage.
• Xpress Value, offering 15 kg of check-in baggage. 
• Xpress Flex, which allows unlimited changes without additional fees.
• And Xpress Biz, which provides business-class seating along with complimentary gourmet meals and priority services.
