A ₹45 lakh CTC at State Bank of India may look like a dream job, but this role is far from a typical banking position.

The Lead Business Analyst recruitment for 2026 targets experienced professionals, not fresh graduates.

This is a contractual, specialist role built for mid-career candidates in IT and BFSI. Applicants must have at least eight years of post-qualification IT experience.

Moreover, five of those years must be in a Business Analyst role. Therefore, early-career aspirants or non-technical candidates will not qualify.

The salary structure also needs careful understanding. While the CTC can go up to ₹45 lakh, only 85% is fixed. The remaining 15% depends entirely on performance.

If performance falls below 90%, the variable pay drops to zero. As a result, the realistic monthly in-hand salary ranges between ₹2.8 lakh and ₹3.2 lakh, depending on taxes and location.

Equally important, this is not a permanent government job. The position comes with a five-year contract and a three-month exit clause. Hence, candidates expecting long-term job security should reconsider.

Eligibility rules are strict. Candidates must hold degrees in fields like Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or AI/ML.

Additionally, SBI rejects applicants with poor credit history or loan defaults. Government or PSU employees must also provide a No Objection Certificate during the process.

There are only eight vacancies nationwide, which makes competition intense. Out of these, five are unreserved, two are for OBC candidates, and one is for SC. The limited openings further narrow the chances.

The application window runs from April 13 to May 4, 2026. Given the documentation required, including experience proofs and salary details, last-minute applications can be risky.

This role suits professionals who already have strong domain experience and are comfortable with performance-linked pay.

While the headline salary is attractive, the expectations and filters are equally demanding.
