Street vendor offers free snacks to celebrate his daughter’s birth
While many people in the country feel daughters as a burden, this street vendor celebrated the birth of his daughter by offering free snacks to people. He is not well-educated but well-cultured. He respects women and believes in their equality.
Anchal Gupta, a street vendor from Kolar, Madhya Pradesh, sells pani puri. He has been selling snacks for 20 years. Having a baby girl is his dream. But, his firstborn child was a boy. He has been waiting for his dream to become true. This time, her wife gave birth to a baby girl. As soon as he heard the news, he was extremely happy. He wanted to celebrate the occasion grandly.
When he shared this news with his friends and relatives, some of them were not happy. Moreover, many of them said that a girl child would be a burden to him.
Gupta was disappointed with their comments. He wanted to convey a message that girl children are not a burden, but they are the future of society. So, he announced distributing pani puri for free to celebrate his daughter’s birth. When the news spread, hundreds of people gathered in front of his shop and received pani puri. They congratulated him and shared his joy.
Gupta spent around ₹50,000 for free distribution of snacks to people. He said that he was happy to celebrate this occasion as he wanted to stop discrimination against girls.
The baby girl was born on August 17. Yesterday was his son’s second birthday, and he wanted to celebrate both occasions at once. Gupta is a school dropout. Yet, he has forward views on many things like women empowerment. His wife is a graduate. He wants to open a tailoring and embroidery shop for her so that she can become financially independent.
