PUBG Mobile stopped working in India
Indian mobile gamers love playing PUBG Mobile. To call this game owned by Tencent corporation a smash hit amongst the Indian Youth is an understatement. Despite its popularity, the Indian government has decided to block it under national security.
PUBG Mobile was set to be banned in India. However, fans of the game had a breath of relief when the game was still working even after that. People who had the game installed could still use it.
However, now even PUBG has confirmed that both PUBG Mobile and PUBG lite will not work anymore in India from October 30. Tencent Games announced that PUBG services will be terminated and user access will be gone from India.
As such, this means that no one will be able to play the game in India even if one had the game already installed.
The Facebook post from PUBG Mobile India said that all publishing rights for PUBG Mobile will be returned to the PUBG corporation.
These two apps being banned in India came in a wave of bans ordered by the government in the name of national security. There was a list of 118 Chinese apps that were declared as security threats. These apps were banned to protect user data as said by the government.
It was initially rumoured that the South Korean company that made original PUBG might team up with Jio for its Indian operations. However, this proved to be a mere rumour. Many fans were hoping that a solution would be reached. As the PC version of the game was made by a Korean company and not a Chinese app, it seems that there is no danger of it getting banned. So if you are a fan of PUBG, you could use this opportunity to play the game on the big screen.
