Home Remedies for Acid Reflux and Gastric Ulcers
Gastric ulcer is one of the most painful conditions which occurs mainly due to the infection of the H. pylori. Stress, smoking, dietary factors and certain medications also induce this condition due to which sores develop on the inner lining of stomach and small intestine. Heartburn is also a painful situation which causes a burning sensation in the chest. Both gastric ulcer and heart burn can be treated with certain home remedies.
- Enzyme supplements are the best solution to treat gastric ulcer and heart burn. Enzymes are generally made in our body, but due to aging, their production will be lessened. Hence taking enzyme supplements helps solve the problem.
- Probiotics contain good bacteria which aid for digestion and prevent the growth of harmful bacteria. They normalize the acidic medium in the stomach as well. Probiotics improve the immunity. Good source of probiotics is yogurt. They can be taken as a pill or in a powder form.
- Drinking aloe vera juice half-an-hour before meal helps treat heartburn. The juice can be taken by mixing it with water to soothe the esophagus. However, aloe vera is not recommended for children and pregnant women, and people with kidney or thyroid diseases.
- Apple cider vinegar is one of the most renowned home remedies to treat heart burn even though it is acidic in nature. Consuming one or two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with a glass of water before meal will help in reducing heart burn.
- One teaspoon of baking soda with a glass water can also neutralize gastric acid. Yet, this remedy cannot be used on a regular basis due to its high salt composition and side effects associated with the usage.
- The mixture of papaya, pineapple and yogurt helps in relieving symptoms of gastric ulcers and heart burn.
- Drinking plenty of water is one of the simplest home remedies for heart burn.
- Drinking fresh cabbage juice helps in relieving the symptoms of stomach ulcers.
- Zinc Carnosine and Glutamine supplements help in treating the condition.
