Lanstove, an amazing innovation is helping many rural citizens in making their lives better. This is a product which works like lamp and also a stove at the same time. It is also a very environmental friendly device. The device is makes use of kerosene efficiently. By working as a lamp and a stove at the same time, it can conserve a lot of energy.

The Lanstove is an innovation of NARI and NGO in Phaltan, Maharashtra. Anil Rajvanshi, an innovator who wants to change the lives of poor Indians has worked with this NGO to come up with many amazing innovations. The Lanstove is one of them.

Since both lighting and cooking is one of the biggest problems faced by rural Indians, he wanted to solve these two problems in one go. When asked about the device, Dr. Rajvanshi stated that “The major issue is with good combustion. Most of the current devices lack that. If the combustion is efficient, kerosene can be a good source for cooking and lighting the houses.”

The lanstove needs a 14 litre kerosene cylinder and can easily cook a meal for a family of five members.
