Mahindra Rise – India’s Biggest Innovation Prize
Mahindra Rise, India’s biggest innovation prize was started on February 28, 2014, on the event of National Science Day. It was ended on August 9, 2014. The prize consists of $1 million to be given in Indian rupees to the individuals who come with innovative ideas. Though the applications are closed for this year, anyone can participate in the event by joining the teams mentioned on their website.
This prize is aimed to increase the reputation of India and to make the phrase “Made in India” the best. There are several challenges to this prize.
The ‘Driverless Car Challenge’ is meant to revolutionize the way cars are driven. The innovation is aimed to reduce accident rates, driver fatigue, and increase eco-friendliness. There are several teams and individuals trying to make an innovation in this challenge. Even though the applications are closed, anyone can connect with one of the teams and become a part of the innovation.
Another challenge in the Rise Prize is the ‘Solar Challenge’. This challenge is aimed at making innovations related to improving Solar Energy. The innovation should make Solar Energy more efficient and easier to access. The applications are closed for this challenge too. But anyone with the right skills joins a team.
