India’s celebration of 68th Republic Day
The 68th Republic Day of India was celebrated with much fervor.
India’s display of military might made for one of the most exciting and awe inducing shows.
The entire nation saw various celebrations. Narendra Modi wished everyone on the 68th Republic Day.
The parade at the Rajpath in Nation capital Delhi saw huge crowds despite the fact that it has been raining since Wednesday evening there.
The tableaux there consisted of 17 states and six ministries in along with President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Various armed forces contingents like the Bihar Regiment, the Punjab and Sikh Regiment and the Gorkha Regiment all marched through Rajpath just like they trained for the Republic Day celebrations.
School children from four schools performed in various cultural activities.
For the first time, the UAE armed forces contingent also participated in the parade of Rajpath as its crown prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was invited as the chief guest.
In a thrilling end, there was a show by motorcycle daredevils Shwet Ashva along with fighter aircrafts of India flying past Rajpath.
Rajpath was not the only place which saw fervent celebrations. Other states like Uttar Pradesh saw unfurling of the tri-color at the venue of Magh Mela in Allahabad.
The security personnel of India exchanged sweets with their Pakistani counterparts at the Wagah Border in Amritsar’s Attari.
Indian personnel also exchanged sweets with Bangladeshi ones at the Indo-Bangladesh border.
In the two states of Punjab and Haryana and Chandigarh, Contingents of police, homeguards NCC and others participated in the parade.
Many Chief Ministers of India also unfurled the tricolor in their respective states as part of their Republic Day celebrations.
All across the nation, several localities saw the celebrations as well.
Many schools had their students perform various arts and cultural activities.
As the nation was celebration, security was also kept tight to make sure all celebrations go well.
