Highlights of PM’s Mann Ki Baat
Mann Ki Baat is a radio programme. It is conducted by Prime Minister of India addressing the nation on several issues.
Yesterday Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi addressed the nation in his monthly radio broadcast programme, Mann Ki Baat 24th edition. He paid tribute to the soldiers of Uri attack. Modi talked on various issues. Here are the highlights of his speech.
Modi said that the culprits behind the Uri attack would be punished. He expressed his full confidence in the Indian army and that he is proud of them.
PM requested Kashmiris to avoid violence and to move forward towards development. Unity, harmony and peace can solve problems and aid the country to move towards development. He added that now Kashmiris are getting aware of the anti-national elements.
Modi appreciated the winners of Rio Paralympics 2016 especially Deepa Malik. She is the oldest in the Indian contingent to win a medal in Rio. The winning of medals in Rio Paralympics would certainly change people’s perspective about the physically challenged people.
Prime Minister also talked about Swacch Bharat Mission due to which awareness on cleanliness has increased in people throughout the country. Many people constructed toilets in their homes. More than 2.5 crore toilets have been built under the mission in the country so far. Several states like Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala are moving towards becoming open-defecation free.
Modi urged people to take part in the cleanliness campaign. He called youth to come with significant and innovative startups to transform ‘Waste to Wealth’. As the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi is coming ahead on October 2, PM asked people to send pictures and videos to him via his app by conducting cleaning drives throughout the country.
He concluded his programme with wishes for Dushehra, Diwali and Durga Puja in advance.
