NariCare empowers new mothers
Breastfeeding, while a natural process, can be an overwhelming challenge for many women.
The physical discomforts, societal pressures, and lack of support make this critical phase difficult.
Recognizing these issues, Gayathri Kanumuri, a former software developer, launched NariCare to support mothers during their breastfeeding journey.
Her mission stems from her personal experience after giving birth to her daughter in 2020.
Gayathri had not anticipated that breastfeeding would be one of her biggest postpartum challenges.
Like many new mothers, she assumed it would come naturally. However, she struggled with feeding durations and frequent concerns over whether her daughter was receiving enough milk.
At three weeks, her daughter began cluster feeding, which further shattered Gayathri’s confidence. Family members’ comments about her milk supply only deepened her anxiety.
Determined to continue breastfeeding due to its health benefits, Gayathri sought help from a lactation consultant. With expert guidance, she overcame her difficulties within two weeks.
This experience inspired her to create a platform to bridge the gap in breastfeeding support for mothers, leading to the creation of NariCare.
In 2022, Gayathri launched NariCare, a comprehensive platform offering holistic postpartum care.
It includes one-on-one consultations with certified lactation consultants, nutrition guidance, postnatal yoga, and mental wellness support.
A standout feature of NariCare is the dedicated WhatsApp breastfeeding support group, which provides real-time answers from lactation experts, ensuring that mothers never feel alone in their journey.
So far, NariCare has helped 400 mothers across various countries. These include India, the USA, Canada, and Australia.
Many new mothers successfully breastfed their babies with the help of the startup.
Gayathri’s mission is fuelled by her desire to empower mothers with the resources, knowledge, and emotional support necessary to navigate the complexities of breastfeeding with confidence.
Through educational content and community support, NariCare is making a profound impact on the lives of new mothers, fostering a sense of empowerment and solidarity.
Despite challenges, Gayathri feels fulfilled by the work NariCare is doing. Knowing that her efforts are helping mothers like herself overcome guilt and find success in breastfeeding gives her immense joy.
NariCare’s journey continues as it explores partnerships with clinics and hospitals to expand its reach, offering mothers the support they need in their most vulnerable moments.
