MP man builds Taj Mahal replica for his wife
Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in memory of his wife Mumtaz. This historic monument is considered a symbol of love.
Here is a man from Madhya Pradesh who built a replica of the Taj Mahal for his wife. Anand Prakash Chouksey, a resident of Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, built the replica of the Taj Mahal for his wife Manju Shah. Both the husband and wife are teachers.
The structure exactly looks like the Taj Mahal as Chouksey used the same materials for it. The cost of the house was about $260,000. Though the house resembles the Taj Mahal, the interiors were not completely designed in Islamic style. They are fused with modern styles.
This 10,000 sq ft marble house has mausoleum-like towers and a dome of 29-feet-high. It is made of Makrana marbles, the same type of marbles used in the original monument. Chouksey constructed the building in his land of 50 acres. The land has a hospital as well.
The building is a 4-bedroom luxurious house. Among them, two bedrooms are on the ground floor, and the other two are on the top floor. Besides, the house has a hall, kitchen, meditation room, and library.
Chouksey says that he and his wife visited the original monument several times to study each and every aspect of the monument. Besides, the couple also used many 3D images of the Taj Mahal to construct their own structure. Since the intention was to build a similar structure but not the exact size, the couple reduced the size of their house to one-third of the original monument.
It took three years to complete the construction of the house, and the engineers worked hard to bring a good finish. Various artisans from Indore and Bengal helped in carving inside the house.
The replica of the Taj Mahal attracts several tourists. Many local people also visit the house for their pre-wedding shoots. The couple does not stop the visitors.
