Akshat Bubna, New Delhi school boy is the first Indian student to win a gold medal in the International Olympiad in Informatics in Taiwan. Akshat Bubna, an 18 year old student has passed his CBSE (12th) exam from Amity International school in New Delhi. He has scored over 96 percent in his exam. He is now joining the famous Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is planning to do a double major in Mathematics in Computer Science.

This gold medal is the second medal Bubna has won. He has previously won the bronze in the Informatics Olympiad in 2013 in Brisbane (Australia). Bubna has stated that his winning of bronze Olympiad has helped him a lot in getting admitted to MIT. He stated that he and his group have been helped by IIT-ians who have participated in the event earlier.

This year, Indians have actually performed well in the Olympiad. Malvika Joshi, from the school ChashakGurukul, Mumbai, has become the first girl from India to get a medal. She has received a silver medal.Another Indian who won a bronze medal from the Olympiad is Pushkar Mishra. He was from DPS, RK Puram.
