Normally, finishing engineering takes four years. Today, several students take two or three more years to get their engineering degree due to backlogs.

But, this brilliant boy completed his four-year engineering course in just one year. He had secured an overall CGPA of 8.23.  What more, he is only 15-year old.

Nirbhay Thacker from Gujarat has become the youngest student in Gujarat Technological University (GTU) to earn this degree.

He finished his electrical engineering from SAL Institute of Technology and Engineering Research.

He will receive his engineering degree from Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani today. He will also receive a special merit certificate from the university on the day of convocation.

Normal student who are at least 4 or 5 years older than him are struggling to pass their exams after six months, this boy achieved this by appearing for his semester examinations every 40-50 days.

He planned to finish 4,000 pages of six subjects in those 50 days by preparing meticulously.

Nirbhay is a child prodigy. He finished his higher secondary schooling and senior secondary from class 8 to 12 in one year.

If everything goes as planned, he is planning to pursue his PhD at the age of 16 years. At present, he is working on a project with help from IIT-Gandhinagar on Superconducting synchronous machine. This project is an open opportunity to pursue his PhD.

Before allowing him to pursue his engineering, Nirbhay was grilled by the GTU. A special exam was conducted for him by the University.

Navin Sheth, VC of GTU told that the boy was found brilliant after being tested thoroughly by the external examiners and experts.

Interestingly, Nirbhay was termed as ‘weak’ in his childhood by his KG teachers. Then, Nirbhay’s father Dhawal Thacker took it as a challenge to change that.
