CBSE Board exams date sheet to be announced soon
The central government decided to conduct the Board exams for Class 10 and 12 of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) between May and June 10. The results will be announced on July 15.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that the exam schedule for these exams would be announced on February 2. The date sheet will be available on the website after the release, said the minister. The CBSE normally releases 50 days before the commencement of the examinations. Even in 2019, the date sheet was released in November while the exams were held from February 15, 2020.
However, this year due to COVID-19 outbreak, students had to attend online classes. In this context, it was assumed that the exams would also be held online. But, CBSE clarified that the exams would be in written mode only, but not online. It also announced the dates for exams and results.
But, the date sheet was not released due to a few reasons. Like many education institutes, CBSE is also facing administrative and logistic issues due to COVID-19. Conducting exams is a huge task during the pandemic as it is essential to maintain social distancing and proper hygiene, and providing facemasks, face shields, and hand sanitisers.
Another problem is that the announcement of election dates in various states like West Bengal, Puducherry, Assam, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
However, it was decided to announce the data sheet on February 2. In this context, CBSE asked the students not to fall prey to fake messages regarding Board exams, but to check the official website regularly to know the updates.
Notably, several fake messages are rounding rounds on social media platforms. A fake date sheet also went viral.
One fake news claimed that students have to register their attendance by the biometric system. But the Press Information Bureau (PIB) dismissed the rumours saying that it was a fake message as CBSE had not made such announcement.
