Cosmetics are a necessary part of daily life, since they help keep people clean and healthy. However, a majority of cosmetics these days are filled with all sorts of chemicals and unnatural ingredients.

Therefore, people feel that they have no choice but to use such chemical-filled products, since they can’t give up using soap.

Yet there are certain Ayurvedic recipes that can work just as well as store-bought cosmetics, without any of the chemicals. These are some Ayurvedic cosmetics that can be a healthy replacement to store-bought cosmetics.

Many store-bought shampoos contain chemicals that can actually damage the hair. An Ayurvedic shampoo will keep one’s hair healthy.

Make this Ayurvedic shampoo with the leaves of a hibiscus plant, the leaves of a pepper plant, and tender vine. Soak these in water overnight. In the morning, crush the leaves in the water and use the liquid as shampoo. This will work just as well as store-bought shampoo varieties.

Although some toothpastes advertise natural ingredients, an Ayurvedic recipe is guaranteed to be chemical-free.

An Ayurvedic toothpaste can be made with a tablespoon of sugar, a teaspoon of alum, a tablespoon of refined camphor, two tablespoons of sunflower oil, and five drops of clove oil. Mix these ingredients together to make the Ayurvedic toothpaste.

The alum and the camphor will help make the teeth white and strong, and the clove oil will strengthen the gums. The sugar will add a touch of sweetness to the paste.

Ayurvedic bath powder can not only cleanse one’s sweat in the morning, but it can also battle body odor throughout the day.

This bath powder can be made with 200 grams of vetiver, 200 grams of holy basil, 200 grams of sandalwood, 200 grams of wild turmeric, and 500 grams of powdered fruit of the soap nut acacia tree. Grind all of these ingredients into a fine powder.

Store the powder in an airtight container. When using this bath powder, mix it with water to make a paste. Then, use this paste like any other body wash.
