Biggest projects of India
There are many things India is known for. However, there are several projects that transformed India a lot. Projects like the Bhakra Dam construction which gave India one of the highest gravity dams in the world are some of the big things that transformed the image of India in the global world.
Here are several of such projects which transformed India.
Project Tiger
Project Tiger was launched by India in the year 1973. The project was launched due to the alarming reduces in the population of tigers in India. In order to save our National animal from extinction, this project was launched.
Bhakra Nangal Dam
This dam is three times taller than Qutub Minar in Delhi. Standing at 226 meters, it is one of the highest gravity dams in the world. This is a famous dam too.
Kerala Tourism
Kerala was the first state in India to create an attractive branding of itself. With this move, they launched into tourism very fast. This project changed the image of the state and made it a premium holiday spot.
Akshay Patra Foundation
In order to feed many hungry children, this project was launched. It started with a small beginning. It is a mid-day meal program by a Non-profit organization. Today it feeds over 1.4 million children from more than 10,000 schools every day.
Mars Orbiter Mission
This mission put India among other space pioneer countries. With a small budget, ISRO planned and implemented this mission on 5th November, 2013. India reached the mars orbit in its first attempt, making it the first country to do so.
Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai
This airport was constructed by L&T. It is famous for its huge space and state of the art technology. This is one of the first hi-tech airports in India making it compete with international airports.
