Selfie Against Dowry Campaign | Fusion - WeRIndia

After getting applause from the PM and all over the country to save the girl child by starting ‘Selfie With Daughter‘ campaign, the panchayat of Bibipur village in Haryana has taken initiative against dowry to strengthen the rights of women. It is the ‘Selfie Against Dowry‘ campaign.

Entries are invited for this campaign from the couples who remained against this social evil earlier and those who have taken oath not to take dowry.

Sunil Jaglan, Bibipur sarpanch stated that he has received about 180 entries on his WhatsApp account. The campaign attracted the attention of other states and countries as well since pictures from other places are also coming to this. The last date to submit selfies for this campaign is August 20 and the selfies that have the best pictures would be respected on August 26. He also added that the campaign was admired by Union Minister Maneka Gandhi on the Union ministry of women and child development’s Facebook.

The campaign got the admiration from many people throughout the country. Narender Kumar, an Army man from New Delhi said that he was enthusiastic about the campaign that is going against dowry. Kumar who lives in Chimnawas village in Rewari, has sent a selfie with his wife, Antu Kumari, 22, to the panchayat. He said that such campaigns inspire many people that are against dowry. He added that dowry is widespread in many places in India and one such example is Ahirwal belt of Haryana from where he originates.
