PM to reshuffle Cabinet
According to reliable sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to reshuffle his cabinet. A set of new council of ministers will be swearing-in on Sunday around 10:00 a.m. at Rashtrapati Bhawan, stated a government official.
This reshuffle will be third one of the NDA government and may be the final.
Prime Minister will leave for China to participate in BRICS Summit after the swearing-in ceremony on the same day afternoon.
It may be a sheer coincidence. But, after every cabinet reshuffle Prime Minister leaves on a foreign tour. Last two times, he left for foreign trips in Myanmar and four countries in Africa, immediately after the cabinet reshuffle. This time will also, he will leave for China.
The assembly elections for Gujarat, Himmachal Pradesh and Karnataka are approaching so Amit Shah, the BJP President had informed several ministers to build up the party.
He added that their cooperation is very essential to win the elections and so several of them would be assigned new tasks regarding this. It is expected that the MPs from these states will get positions in the new council of ministers.
At present, four junior ministers, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Sanjiv Kumar Balyan, Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mahendra Nath Pandey resigned for their positions.
Last week, Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu also resigned due to many instances of train derailments.
There are also three other vacancies: One is the position of Defence Minister, Manohar Parikar who resigned to his position to come back as the CM of Goa, Information and Broadcasting Minister Venakaiah Naidu who resigned to his position and returned as Vice President of India and the last position is MoS Environment and Climate Change Anil Madhav Dave who passed away.
Day before yesterday, Amit Shah met the PM in his residence to discuss the final list of reshuffled ministers. Yet, the meeting was not officially confirmed by the government.
