Only Gujarati style vegetarian items to Trump | Fusion - WeRIndia

While the US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are visiting India today for a two-day trip, Chef Suresh Khanna has been assigned to cook food for them.

He is a chef of the Fortune Landmark Hotel in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. Along with these two guests, Prime Minister Modi will also be joining them. And the cooking responsibility for them has been assigned to Chef Khanna.

In this context, he said that it was a great honour to cook for the dignitaries and he would try to impress them.

He, along with the team would be working on the menu that has been ordered by the government. The menu includes only vegetarian items with Gujarati flavour.

He said that Gujarati style vegetarian items will be served to the guests. Some of them are multi-grain Rotis, khaman, broccoli samosa, honey-dip cookies, and snacks made of besan.

All cooked food items will be tested by the food inspectors thoroughly before being served to guests.

Chef Khanna is not new when it comes to preparing food for the dignitaries. He had prior experience in it. In addition to PM Modi, former late President APJ Abdul Kalam, Home Minister Amit Shah and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu are some who tasted his food.

Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan and Shilpa Setty also tasted his food. He received the National Culinary Award in 1990.

During his two-day trip, US President Donald Trump will visit Ahmedabad-Agra-New Delhi.

Trumps’s wife, his daughter Ivanka Trump, and his son in law Jared Kushner are also visiting India along with him.

President of India Ram Nath Kovind will host dinner for him on the first day. This is Trump’s first visit to India.
