Narendra Modi pays Floral Tribute to Sardar Patel
October 31 is the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and it is celebrated as National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas). Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s portrait at Patel Chowk near Parliament House in New Delhi. Several major leaders and ministers accompanied him.
Sardar Patel served India as the first home minister. ‘Run for Unity’ (Ekta Daud) is held in various parts of the country and pledge will be taken to spread Patel’s message of national integration and good governance.
Born on October 31, 1875 in Gujarat, Patel played a crucial role in Indian freedom struggle and in integrating Independent India. He was considered as the most successful home minister till date. He was responsible for unifying India. Patel was treated as a hero renowned for his courage.
