Modi: Demonetization only beginning in war against black money
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the demonetization is only the first step in the war against country’s black money. He said that the high denomination notes being demonetized is the start of a continuous struggle against black money. Modi was addressing a BJP Parliamentary meet when he said this.
The PM told the BJP MPs that this decision is done to help the poor. On November 22, the BJP MPs all met and passed a unanimous resolution congratulating the PM for his start of fight against black money. They all applauded the move of scrapping Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.
After the PM spoke, finance minister Arun Jaitley said that after demonetization, this is the new normal in India.
Jaitley said that Modi stopped what has been normal for the past 70 years and created a new normal. He also addressed the party workers and the media. He added that the move by Modi is already helping stop black money and funding of terrorists.
PM Modi also tweeted on the same day and asked everyone to give a survey on the decision of demonetization on the Narendra Modi app. He asked the people to do this survey on the app to let out their opinion. Modi said he wants the first hand opinion of people regarding this decision. He asked everyone to download the app and take the survey.
The survey consists of 10 questions regarding the demonetization. The ten questions are as follows:
