Indian rail travelers know the struggle of booking in Tatkal. Whether it is the timings or the chance of not getting tickets, Tatkal is a process which has a lot of unpredictability in it. Thankfully, in order to help the train passenger, the railway ministry has come up with some major changes to make things more convenient.

The Railways has modified the timing for booking Tatkal tickets. As per the new timings, Tatkal booking for AC categories will begin at ten am and will finish at eleven am.

Tatkal booking for non-AC categories will begin at eleven am and will continue until noon. Meanwhile, the Railways conjointly enlightened that customers will get a refund of upto fifty per cent on cancellation of Tatkal ticket.

Rail passengers are happy currently as Indian Railways didn’t offer any refund on cancellation of confirmed Tatkal tickets. The aim of this move is to help passengers who have to cancel on emergencies.

Railways is probably going to launch its ‘Tatkal Special’ train service, traveling on which can be dearer than on traditional trains, stated officials. The Railways has conjointly relaxed the advance reservation amount for Tatkal Special trains. The advance reservation period is of a minimum ten days and at most sixty days.
