With the deaths of 200 on Tuesday, Jammu and Kashmir floods is considered the worst calamity in a century by the CM. Nearly 43,000 people have been evacuated safely by various agencies. Yet, nearly four lakh people were still stranded in flood-ravaged Kashmir Valley even though one lakh troops engaged in the rescue operations.

The water level in Dal Lake was also steadily rising. Though the water levels have slightly reduced in South Kashmir, it has been increasing in the northern side.
