Exit poll predictions in Himachal Pradesh
As the election process was over, now it is the turn of exit poll predictions. Different channels in the country predict in favour of different parties.
Majority of the TV channels released their exit poll results stating that the BJP will bag the highest number of seats in not just Himachal Pradesh but also in Gujarat.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the main ruling party in the centre remained as a favourite choice to them as most of the exit poll results showed favourable results to them.
According to the exit poll results of Times Now-VMR, the BJP is likely to win 51 seats whereas the Congress party would get 17 seats in Himachal Pradesh. Independent candidates may win one seat.
The polling for the Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh was held on November 9. Around 74 per cent of polling was recorded in the state which is the highest turnout.
The total constituencies in Himachal Pradesh are 68 whereas the magic number is 35 to from government.
That means, as per the predictions of Times Now-VMR, BJP will form the government in Himachal Pradesh.
The BJP and the Congress won 41 and 23 seats in 2007 elections respectively whereas the number of seats won by the BJP in 2012 elections were 26 and 36 seats by Congress.
However, all four parliamentary seats were won by BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections for the state.
At present, Congress is ruling in the state and Virbhadra Singh is the Chief Minister. The Congress party declared him as their CM candidate. Prem Kumar Dhumal was nominated by the BJP for the CM post in Himachal Pradesh.
Though the predictions are favourable to the current opposition party in the state i.e. the BJP, time decides the winner of the elections.
